Natural or bio-identical progesterone is the molecule that is made by women at ovulation. It is the exact molecule that human receptors seek; it is the exact molecule that women make at ovulation and during pregnancy; and it is the exact molecule necessary to offset, and neutralise the damaging effects of estrogen.
When referring to hormones, the term natural or bio-identical, means that the molecule is exactly the same molecular shape, as that found in humans. Usually they are derived from plants such as sarsaparilla, Mexican yam or soy bean.
There is no such thing as a standard dose of bio-identical hormone.
No set box size and no recommended amount, because we are all different. The amount and the types of hormone that Sally needs could be quite different from the needs of Jane, or Julie.
Different genes, different exposures to foreign estrogen-like molecules in utero, different body shapes, different onset and nature of periods, different exposures to pregnancy hormones and oral contraceptives, makes us all different from one another.
And because we are all different, time must be spent with each individual to accurately determine their symptoms and needs.
The art of clinical medicine including detailed history and careful examination, together with lots of communication and compassion is necessary. The 10 minute doctor consultation will not do; nor will a 30 minute homoeopathy, reiki, or aromatherapy visit.
There is no substitute for careful clinical consideration. Unfortunately, most doctors simply don't have the time and many don't have the inclination.
Consider taking the free self test to see if you may have a correctable condition….or you may decide to have your own personal online consultation.
